Virtual Field Sessions Day

September 8, 2020 by Mary Pearl Meuth

Missing your field time? Missing the sound of prairie grass under your boots or chiggers crawling up your pants leg? The feeling of a whip of wind through a group of TMNs huddled over an unidentified plant species, iNat out and trying to ID? Or have you missed the thrill in being interrupted mid interpretive hike with fellow TMNs to twirl around and listen for that bird song behind you? What was that bird again . . .

With the virtual nature of our upcoming Annual Meeting and so many of the other trainings/workshops you’ve most likely attended recently, you may have felt like something was missing. Well we’ve got you covered! While we can’t (and won’t) offer the chigger bites or wind whipped face – we can offer the field educational time you’ve been missing! With our upcoming Virtual 2020 Annual Meeting, five of our Houston regional chapters have offered to host a Virtual Field Sessions Day the day prior to and as an added perk to the TMN Annual Meeting! Join us Tuesday October 13th to get a tour of those sites and sounds we would have explored together with a Houston-based Annual Meeting if we could have been there in person. Learn from TMNs, local experts and get a more intimate tour of places to pencil into your planner to visit the next time you’re driving through Houston!

Registration for this event is included in the TMN 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting registration. The live sessions in October will include recorded field sessions captured throughout the past few months along with LIVE Q&A with field session leaders, invited speakers and local TMN members.
